Washington Food Safety Training Courses

State Requirements
All food service workers must obtain a food worker card within 14 calendar days from the beginning of employment at a food service establishment. "Food service worker" means an individual who works; with or without pay in a food service establishment and handles unwrapped or unpackaged food or who may contribute to the transmission of infectious diseases through the nature of his/her contact with food products and/or equipment and facilities.

Certification Renewal - Initial cards are valid for 2 years. Renewal cards are valid for 3 years. A food worker who has obtained additional training within the past 2 years may apply for a 5-year renewal card.

Washington Food Handler's Safety Training

This course will take you through the fundamentals of food safety. By the time you have finished this course you should have a better understanding of what foodborne illnesses are, how they are caused, and what you can do to help prevent them.
